I am going to be honest my natural hair regimen has changed quite a bit since my BC. I have played around with products and product combinations and even different techniques.  My current regimen definitely works great for me especially at this stage of my growing TWA.  You are probably wondering well how did you go about acquiring this product combination?  Honestly, I watched many videos and gathered many ideas and techniques from a lot of videos and tried various routines until I struck gold.  Although, I have come up with a hair regimen that works best for me I know not to get too comfortable as I am sure it will change as my hair continues to grow longer and longer.  My hair regime doesn't take too long in my opinion and I have mastered it quite well.  Let's discuss!

Have you ever been so curious about a hair product that you just had to get your hands on it?  That's exactly how I felt about this product... that I asked my wonderful husband to drive me an hour out of town to snag it up so I could see for myself if it was going to be my new gem. Crazy huh?  This was going to be my first product review from the Alikay Naturals line.  I conducted my research on this product and found many positive and some negative reviews... so I knew it could go either way for me.  This product comes in an 8 fl oz jar and I paid $17.00 as that is more than I usually like to spend on my hair products unless they are absolutely worth it!  I was very hopeful as this product claimed to smooth the cuticle to reduce frizz while clumping and elongating your curls leaving them hydrated and defined for dayssss and it's safe for color treated hair with all natural ingredients. Wow, sounds divine right?

I never thought I would ever brave the BC or even consider going natural!  I always had long straight relaxed hair and had no desire to look or breathe in the other direction of the natural hair world.  Change wasn't on my agenda... and I had grown to love my long flowing straight locks.  Was it wrong for me to have loved my chemically straightened hair?  I believe not... in fact I am very fond of straight hair still and always will be.  Beauty comes in all forms and we hold the key to defining it.  However, I found there to be a difference between loving straight hair and being slave to the relaxer or even the feeling of I MUST straighten my new growth before my natural texture begins to show.  I was one who got her relaxer faithfully every 4-6 weeks.  Looking back that is exactly how I felt and never even knew the bondage my thoughts kept me from embracing something new!

First let me start by expressing these are my personal opinions based upon my personal experiences with my natural texture of hair. You are probably wondering what is her natural texture?  Great question!  I will do my best to try to answer. For those of you who are into hair typing.... I believe after some research my tight voluminous corkscrew coils are in the 3C/4A range.  I try to not to get stuck on a particular hair type but at the same time I want to be educated on what's on my head.  I find it extremely beneficial especially when trying to search for the best products for your hair. I think the more research you do the better chance of you not wasting all your hard earned money on products that don't compliment your texture.

Calling All Naturals!! November 19, 2014... I started on my daunting and exciting journey as I decided to Big Chop all my chemically relaxed hair off and leave my 6 months of new growth to begin my new life as a newlywed while learning to embrace my natural texture. Ohhhh no don't fret, this recently discovered natural did not brave the Big Chop by herself.
